Hello everyone, please keep Kathleen in your prayers. Below I posted an email she sent last week. She hasn't had the surgery yet due to her ankle being very swollen but the surgery is scheduled for this Saturday. Please pray for the swelling to go down and that the operation goes well. Also pray for strength and peace for her as she is going through this...she is a missionary in Venezuela and being in a country not your own makes being in a hospital even less fun.

This past Friday, I was with our church on a trip to help out some churches in Eastern Venezuela. I had an accident. I tripped and fell going down some stone stairs. I twisted and fractured my ankle pretty severely that the doctor said that I needed an operation as soon as possible. The church paid for our plane tickets back to Maracaibo. We met with a great traumatologist who also recommend surgery. At most they will have to put in seven screws and then eventually replace those with a metal plate. The fracture just happens to be in a bad location and a cast won't heal the bones, that's why surgery is the only option. I will be hospitalized tommorrow morning waiting for the next available opening for surgery. Its possible that I might be operated on tomorrow or sometime this week.
God has miraculously taken care of everything. The doctor operating on me is one of the best traumatologists in Maracaibo in the best hospital, she's a Christian and is a good friend of our close friends. She's doing the operation for practically nothing. The hopsital is free, so I don't have to pay for my hospital stay at all. I will have to be on bed rest for 2 and a half to three months, so I won't be able to make it to the US in November, but hopefully I can make the trip soon after recovery. Hebert and his family are taking such good care of me. We have been able to borrow a wheelchair and a pair of crutches, so I have everything that I need.
I just wanted to send this to have you guys praying...I know that prayer will be a great support for me. You may not be able to be there for me physcially but prayer IS JUST AS POWERFUL. Please don't worry everything is fine and being taken care of. God has everything in His control and He's already shown me His amazing faithfulness and provision in taking care of every detail both small and large since the accident.
I find rest in God, only he gives me hope.
He is my rock and my salvation.
