Proverbs 31 Woman- Part Two: the key

(continued from previous post)

All this to say about how busy the Proverbs 31 woman was and all she accomplished, it seems the key to being a good wife doesn´t have anything to do with housework or how much we can get done in a day.

Proverbs 31:30 says "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."

In the words of Kathleen Bolick, "A good wife isn't one that does everything perfectly around the house, a good wife is one who's heart is firmly rooted in God."

When I asked David what is his definition of a good wife, he said "to love me unconditionally, respect me, have patience with me, help me, and snuggle with me" hahaha ("snuggle" is one word I have already taught him how to say in English because there isn´t a similar work in Español)

So, although we do have a responsibility to make our homes like a "little bit of heaven" (from Kay Arthur´s book "A Marriage without Regrets"), it is not the most important thing that our homes are perfect or that we are perfect. What a relief. Because that isn´t even possible. The most important thing in marriage, and life in general, is fearing the Lord, loving Him most, and seeking Him.

Hello Sarah, interesting: the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and Proverbs 14:1 says that the wise woman builds her house, i mean, if we are women who fear God our home will be built (on the rock which is JesusChrist) and nothing bring it down. :) I want to be a wise woman and i pray everyday for that....
God bless you! keep writing, you bless my life, I know God smiles you :)
